Pep Guardiola must unleash ‘unbelievable’ Man City player vs Brighton, he’s been incredible recently - opinion

Pep Guardiola must include one particular Manchester City player in his starting XI for their upcoming Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion.

After last weekend’s FA Cup semi-final win over Chelsea, the Manchester club are back in Premier League action on Thursday with an away clash against the Seagulls.

In terms of what Guardiola’s starting XI could look like for this south coast showdown, we feel that one particular figure should be in from the start on this occasion.

Having been a second-half substitute in City’s previous two games against Real Madrid in the Champions League last week and the recent 1-0 win over Chelsea in the FA Cup, we think Jeremy Doku should be in from the beginning this time around.

In 48 minutes off the bench against Real, the winger made three key passes and was able to successfully complete three dribbles, making himself a real nuisance for the Spanish side’s defence.

Then against Chelsea, the 21-year-old had a similar impact in just 25 minutes of action where he completed four dribbles and had one shot on target.

After the win at Wembley Stadium, Guardiola had this to say about Doku’s impact off the bench in City’s two previous games

He said: “He had an incredible action with Moises Caicedo and the impact from Jeremy against Real Madrid was unbelievable, too.”

Could Jeremy Doku be a key figure against Brighton?

While the winger has proven himself to be a useful impact sub in recent weeks, we feel that this upcoming game against Brighton could be an ideal opportunity for Doku to show what he can do from the start.

His previous start came in City’s 5-1 win over Luton Town where he scored one goal, provided one assist and won a penalty for his side.

This shows that he has what it takes to be a key figure for his side in terms of providing goal contributions, which is what City will need if they want to get their hands on the Premier League title once again.
