Reacting to a New York Times report that Donald Trump is less than pleased that his fans are not showing up outside the Manhattan courtroom where he is facing 34 felony counts, MSNBC's Joe Scarborough laughed at the former president's fury.

According to the Times, "Donald J. Trump was evidently not happy with what he saw out the window of his chauffeured S.U.V. as he rode through Lower Manhattan on Monday morning for the beginning of opening arguments in his first criminal trial," adding, "Mr. Trump has portrayed his legal jeopardy as a threat to America itself, and he has suggested that the country would not put up with it. But the streets around the courthouse on Monday were chaos-free — well-patrolled and relatively quiet. As his motorcade made its way to the courthouse, the few Trump supporters gathered in the park were outnumbered by Trump detractors, who waved signs about his alleged liaison with a porn star."

After "Morning Joe" co-host Mika Brzezinski read from the report, Scarborough recalled how Trump has always tried to pump up his crowd numbers as president when reports noted poor turnout.

He then added that Trump's hush money trial is pushing him over the edge.

Scarborough then pointed out that Fox News has come to Trump's defense by arguing that the former president is being forced to sit in a courtroom for eight hours a day, which the Fox hosts found to be onerous.

"So it is maddening to him," Scarborough stated. "Everything seems to be going against him. He's having to sit in this courtroom. I thought it was fascinating last night on Fox News, you actually had Fox News hosts complaining that he was too old — he's a 77-year-old man — who would make a 77-year-old sit down all day?"

"That's what a lot of 77-year-old men do, they sit down all day," he laughed. "They watch the Atlanta Braves. I know, my dad was one of them. But a lot of people sit down all day. He's just going crazy and, to add insult to injury, of course, he's been outnumbered by people that are having, you know -- his supporters are outnumbered by people that are holding up signs talking about porn stars and time in prison."
