'Deal completed': Inter Miami have now reached agreement to sign 19-year-old Argentine - journalist

Inter Miami have reportedly reached an agreement to sign a 19-year-old Argentine talent on loan with an option to buy in December.

The Herons have been one of the most active sides in MLS this year in terms of transfers, with Inter Miami signing Luis Suarez, Julian Gressel and Nicolas Freire in January with Marcelo Weigandt joining on loan from Boca Juniors last month.

With Matias Rojas reportedly set to sign in the coming days, it appears that Inter Miami aren’t over just yet with their transfer business, with David Beckham and company working hard behind the scenes to bring in players to help the likes of Lionel Messi.

And Inter Miami are now closing in on another deal that could work out in the long term.

Inter Miami to sign Boca Juniors youngster Giovanni Ferraina

According to journalist Cesar Luis Merlo, Inter Miami have reached an agreement to sign Boca defender Giovanni Ferraina on loan for the Herons’ second-team, with the deal including a $1.5m purchase option at the end of the year.

Merlo wrote: “Boca have loaned youth defender Giovanni Ferraina to Inter Miami until December. The deal includes a purchase option of $1,500,000. Deal completed, and once the visa is issued, he will travel to join.”

Inter Miami have taken full advantage of the South American market with the arrival of Messi last year, with Federico Redondo another top prospect who has made the move from Argentina to Florida in recent months.

And Ferraina is now the latest youngster to join the Inter Miami project, where playing for the club’s second-team and training alongside the likes of Messi and Suarez could be big for the defender’s development.

Inter Miami are making all the right transfer moves in 2024

Inter Miami’s transformation since the arrival of Messi has been nothing short of incredible, with the Herons bringing in players who can help in the short-term yet also stick around develop for years to come.

And the latter category is where Ferraina fits in, with the 19-year-old cleary someone Inter Miami rates highly yet are aware that isn’t experienced enough yet to feature in MLS with the first-team.

Indeed, Ferraina feels like a very safe signing for Inter Miami given all the factors involved, and the deal again represents the direction the Herons are going in, one that makes the Florida franchise one of the most exciting clubs in all of soccer.
