Why Rasmus Hojlund fell out with Bruno Fernandes earlier this season says it all about Man Utd right now

After an underwhelming progression to the FA Cup final over the weekend, another negative Manchester United report has now been shared.

This season has been long and turbulent for Manchester United, with nothing really going right, besides the odd result.

The performances on the pitch have been awful both offensively and defensively, along with some inexplicable situations. Such as blowing a 3-0 lead.

But specifically, the first season for Rasmus Hojlund has been a struggle, despite Champions League success and a seven-game run early in 2024 which has him on 13 goals this season.

But he can hardly take the entire blame, as he hasn’t really had service which he’d have expected at a club like United.

Now, it’s been revealed that there was actually a falling out with his teammates over this.

Why Rasmus Hojlund fell out with Manchester United teammates

Nothing seems to be going right at the moment for United, and now a report has explained the details of one squad fallout.

According to the Daily Mail, earlier this season Erik ten Hag and his coaching staff were handed a problem, when Hojlund went to them with complaints about Bruno Fernandes.

The reason was that Hojlund was upset over the lack of passes he was receiving from Fernandes.

This matter was made worse when Hojlund fell out with Diogo Dalot after United conceded a late equaliser against Copenhagen in November and Bruno sided with his compatriot.

When raising his concerns, the coaching staff reportedly told Hojlund to talk directly with Dalot about it.

It was only after the two players shook hands that Fernandes then also made peace with Hojlund and squad harmony was restored.

This situation just says it all about the situation at Old Trafford

Falling out in this manner simply cannot happen, and the fact Ten Hag and the coaches allowed this to happen just shows a real lack of leadership.

Making a 20-year-old new arrival go against two of the most established players at the club without mediating or solving the situation is poor.

But on the other hand, it’s also poor from the captain as he shouldn’t be taking sides when he should in fact be in the middle sorting out disputes like this.

We find it hard to blame Hojlund for wanting better service considering he’s had as many big chances this season as Erling Haaland has missed.

Just further evidence of the toxicity in the dressing room which needs fixing.
