Tinder launches new feature to combat growing anxiety surrounding dating

Tinder has launched a new feature that permits its 75 million users to share information about their date with loved ones like family and friends.

Thanks to the 1,500 apps on the market, finding a date has never been easier. Unfortunately, going out on dates also poses a safety risk as evidenced by the 20% of women who feel unsafe while going on a first date. In contrast, only 9% of men feel unsafe on a first date.

Tinder has launched Share My Date

In a bid to ease the worries of singletons across the globe, the world’s most popular dating app has launched a new data-sharing feature on their app.

Through their own research, Tinder discovered that 51% of people are already sharing information about their dates with their loved ones. Furthermore, 18% share that information with their mum.

Recognizing the clear need for the feature, Tinder is launching its Share My Date update in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, Singapore, India, Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, and Japan. Brazil, Switzerland, Mexico, Netherlands, Italy, Korea, Vietnam, and Thailand are also slated for the release.

Designed to be shared with family, friends, and even colleagues, Share My Date is incredibly easy to use and it could help to decrease your anxiety when meeting your beau for the first time.

With just one click, Tinder users can share the location, date, time, and a photo of their match directly from the app. If you’re a particularly active dater, then you’ll be pleased to learn you can create an unlimited number of dates up to 30 days in advance.

Because dates have the habit of changing at the last minute, Tinder is also allowing its customers to edit date information on the go. It can then be reshared to your inner circle.

“At Tinder, we continue to release new features that aim to create a fun, safe, and respectful experience for all,” said Tinder CMO Melissa Hobley. “Discussing plans with friends and family is a time-honored dating ritual. Share My Date streamlines this basic info-sharing so singles can jump right to the exciting part, from figuring out what to wear to prepping conversation topics.”
