Trey Townsend is reportedly down to two options in his choice out of the transfer portal.
CBS Sports’ Matt Norlander shared the update on Townsend, formerly of Oakland, on Twitter on Tuesday. He said that, at some point this week, he will be committing to either Arizona or Ohio State. That would remove several options from his eventual choice, including Michigan State.
“Source: Oakland grad transfer Trey Townsend—one of the best in the portal—will commit to Arizona or Ohio State this week,” Norlander wrote.
However, the Spartans shouldn’t be too concerned. At the end of the tweet, he made it known that a different transfer, one that’s similar to Townsend, should be committing to come to East Lansing soon.
“Michigan St. was also involved, but Sparty is soon to add a transfer who plays a similar position,” added Norlander.
