ESPN pundit says Liverpool already have perfect Mo Salah replacement but he's playing in a different position

Liverpool have been told that they already have a player at the club who can replace Mohamed Salah if he leaves this summer.

All eyes will be on who will replace Jurgen Klopp at Anfield at the end of this season, but Liverpool will have a few other dilemmas as well.

The Reds have a number of top-quality players in their squad, and Salah is arguably the best of the bunch. He has been unbelievable for them over the years.

However, the Egyptian will enter the final year of his contract this summer, and everyone is expecting a huge offer to come in from Saudi Arabia.

Liverpool will need a replacement for Salah if he moves on, and ESPN pundit Steve Nicol has an interesting suggestion for the Reds.

Liverpool told to sign Serie A striker and then move Darwin Nunez to right-wing

Replacing Jurgen Klopp this summer will be an extremely difficult task, but finding someone to take Mohamed Salah‘s spot will not be easy either.

Liverpool, for what it’s worth, would love to keep hold of Salah, but he will turn 32 this summer, and it will be difficult to turn down a huge offer should it arrive.

Finding a replacement for Salah will be extremely difficult. The Egyptian produces outrageous numbers despite playing out wide – there aren’t many wingers in the world who can do that.

That’s why Steve Nicol has an interesting suggestion for FSG.

The ESPN pundit believes Darwin Nunez, who mostly plays as a number nine, should be moved to the right-wing this summer if Salah leaves, and he is convinced the Uruguayan will do a good job there.

If you’re wondering who will replace Nunez up front, Nicol has a name for that role too – Serie A side Napoli’s talisman, Victor Osimhen.

When asked about the perfect Salah replacement, he said on ESPN: “I would be more tempted to go for somebody like Osimhen and use the other one (Nunez) out wide.”

Nicol was then asked if Nunez is capable of playing as a winger. He replied: “I think so because he looks as though he enjoys running at people and he likes running in behind.

“So, yeah, put him wide.”

Mo Salah will not make decision on his future until one thing happens at Liverpool

Rumours about Mohamed Salah’s future at Liverpool will begin to emerge as we get close to the start of the summer transfer window.

As we said above, the Egyptian will enter the final 12 months of his contract this summer, just like Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

All three players will surely have clubs lining up for them if they become available, but none of them are expected to make a decision on their future until one thing happens.

Fabrizio Romano revealed recently that Salah, and Van Dijk, are going to wait until Liverpool appoint Jurgen Klopp’s successor before taking a call on their own futures at the club.

That makes it even more important for Liverpool to get their next appointment right.
