Terrorists from the Hezbollah group fired rockets from Lebanese territory at the northern Israeli community of Margaliot, according to The Times of Israel.

On Tuesday, militants from the group claimed to have struck Israeli military bases north of the city of Acre with a drone, marking the deepest strike into Israeli territory since the start of the war in Gaza.

Hezbollah stated that they acted in response to a previous Israeli attack, which resulted in the death of one of their militants. The group published what appears to be a satellite photo, with a flash symbolizing the strike and a red circle around it, located halfway between Acre and Nahariya in the north.

Israeli strikes on Hezbollah terrorists

Hezbollah, translated from Arabic as Party of God, is a Lebanese Shiite organization that combines the functions of a militarized group and a political party.

The organization, founded in 1982 during the Lebanese Civil War by a group of radical Shiite clerics with financial support from Iran, aims to resist the Israeli occupation of parts of Lebanon through armed means.

On April 18, the Israeli Air Force struck Hezbollah infrastructure in eastern Lebanon.

Last week, the IDF struck two Hezbollah terrorist bases in Lebanon using military aviation.

Israel also struck a large Hezbollah weapons production facility in Lebanon.
