Monday has seen momentum swing back into Leeds United’s favour and while the Whites will have to rely on Ipswich Town to drop points to finish in the top two – Leeds have given themselves a chance.
Leeds were never going to catch Leicester as the week started. The Foxes are now four clear at the top of the table after battering Southampton to win 5-0 – ending any late hope of a Saints top-two comeback.
A hat-trick from Abdul Fatawu and goals from Jamie Vardy and Wilfried Ndidi saw Leicester go within an inch of being confirmed League winners. They could do the job next Monday, when they go to Preston.
It comes after Leeds had climbed back into second place with a 4-3 win over Middlesbrough, heaping the pressure back on Ipswich. Leicester have 94 from 44. Leeds, 90 from 44, Ipswich have 89 from 43.

So of course, it remains in Ipswich’s hands. If they win the remaining three games, they will finish above Leeds and go up automatically alongside Leicester – condemning Leeds to the Championship play-offs.
But, Leeds have a chance if we win our last two. Crysencio Summerville made sure we won on Monday night, as he netted a brace and created another in our 4-3 win. Stewart Downing says he is back in form.
Summerville posted on Instagram as he reached 30 goals and assists – 20 goals, 10 assists, with his brace and assist for WIlly Gnonto’s goal; our third. He proved why he’s the Championship Player of the Season.

Roberts will have been watching on from the sidelines as the Wales star fights to be fit enough to play against Southampton on the final day of the season. Daniel Farke ruled him out of Boro, and then QPR.
But, as when he first joined, he is a bubbly character. A team player with the squad in his best interests, not his own – even if he is only on loan from Burnley. He’s made it clear he would like to join permanently.
Certainly, he has a sense of humour and that has been evident in clips behind the scenes we’ve seen – alongside the likes of Joe Rodon. He posted on Summerville’s Instagram, listing Summerville’s full name.
Among those to comment alongside Roberts included Bologna’s impressive Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee, who has been linked with a move to England. Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber, too.
