Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard left in awe of 24-year-old Arsenal player in Chelsea demolition last night

Declan Rice was one of a host of Arsenal players who were left blown away by one individual performance against Chelsea last night.

Despite Chelsea displaying brief moments of quality, Arsenal tore their London rivals apart, courtesy of their old player, Kai Havertz.

Thomas Partey was also excellent in the middle, a performance that almost created as much frustration as it did joy.

Seeing the Ghanaian line up alongside Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard in Arsenal’s strongest midfield demonstrated what the club had been missing, their strongest combo.

Arsenal will concede more chances with Partey as their number six, but they will also be exponentially better going forward.

The key for Arsenal moving forwards seems to be playing a six alongside Rice in midfield, and resisting the temptation to move Havertz away from his role as a false nine.

A simple recipe, but it’s not easy when that leaves Gabriel Jesus watching on from the bench.

Kai Havertz picked the perfect night to prove how crucial he’s become for Arsenal

Of course, having scored two goals against his former side last night, Kai Havertz didn’t resist the urge to celebrate.

And after the game Havertz also took the opportunity to enjoy the win with Arsenal’s fans on Instagram.

The popular striker posted a picture of his trademark knee-slide along with a caption of: “Important 3 points and performance to continue the momentum!”

And as you may expect, a host of Arsenal players replied with their support, including Declan Rice who simply posted a shushing face emoji, perhaps in context of his teammate facing his old side.

Martin Odegaard also then left some congratulatory emojis, a real feel good night for the Gunners.

Of course, Arsenal will now enjoy a quieter few days watching Liverpool and Manchester City’s attempts to reply to their success.

But then the North London Derby will quickly be upon them, a fixture that is so crucial to both club’s respective league aspirations this season.

Arsenal can’t quite win the league at The Lane as they did in the past, but they can certainly take a huge step forward.

All that being said, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino wasn’t too happy with something that was said about Arsenal last night.
