Pressure on Pochettino after Arsenal 5-0 Chelsea

A damning 5-0 defeat to Arsenal last night will have left even more supporters of the belief that they should make a change at the helm, although it does look as if he’s going to at least see out the remainder of this season.

There is an acceptance amongst even his biggest critics however that he has not had his strongest squad to deal with up to now, missing the likes of Christopher Nkunku, Romeo Lavia and Reece James for the majority of the campaign.

It has been reported that this has been acknowledged by those in senior positions as an area where he has been given leeway, although there are scenarios that have frustrated them this season.

Pochettino experience comments upsetting owners

The same report has stated that some comments made by Pochettino, particularly regarding the experience in the squad have not landed well with those senior figures.

A lot has been made of just how young the current Chelsea side is, and how the average age of the first team will be when Thiago Silva leaves at the end of the season.

It feels as if it is a squad calling out for some players with a few more games under their belt, particularly in the Premier League.

In terms of possible signings they could make, one that looks absolutely perfect is Ivan Toney from Brentford, with him set to be on the move this summer.
