When the Below Deck Mediterranean trailer came out, due to air on June 3, fans were gobsmacked. None other than Captain Sandy Yawn was there ordering Aesha Scott, rather than her usual boss, Jason.
Captain Jason and Aesha ‘separated’
Captain Jason Chambers currently works on Below Deck Down Under with Aesha just below him. Everyone watching has fallen in love with their friendship, but it appears their working bond is finished.
Aesha will now be working under Captain Sandy Yawn on Below Deck Med. She said, “I have so many butterflies. The Med is where it all started for me – I’m just so excited to prove myself.”
As a result of the new partnership, it’s been assumed she won’t also be working on Down Under with Jason. Last season, she opened up about a serious incident involving co-star Luke Jones to the captain.
Bravo fans devastated over discovery
When Below Deck fans realised Aesha’s new job would likely take her away from her Down Under duties, they were devastated about no longer seeing her work with Captain Jason.
One viewer wrote, “WHERE IS CAPTAIN JASON????? Why is Aesha not with him?” Another shocked fan simply contemplated the possibility and said, “If y’all break up Aesha and Capt. Jason…”
“I will watch because I adore Aesha but this makes me sad because it seems like she won’t be back on Down Under. I absolutely love her and Captain Jason together,” penned a fellow viewer.
Below Deck Med trailer reveals cast
Elena Dubaich will be returning to Below Deck Med, joined by Aesha, Captain Sandy Yawn, Johnathan Shillingford, chef Iain Maclean, Joe Bradley, Nathan Gallagher, Gael Cameron and stew Bri Muller.
The season 9 cast features original and returning stars on board motor yacht Mustique, with Aesha as chief stew, bringing eight years of yachting to the Greek islands!
Although we won’t be seeing Aesha put Captain Jason’s contact lenses in for him, we’re glad to be watching her back on the Below Deck franchise after months of curiosity.
