Raffle launched to win tickets to Newbury’s sold-out Al Murray fundraiser gig

TODAY (Thursday, April 25), the Corn Exchange Newbury launches their raffle to give one lucky winner the chance to get two, central, stalls tickets for their sold out pubtastic fundraising event with Al Murray.

Raffle tickets are priced at £5 each and all funds raised will go towards the Old Library Campaign, to redevelop the historic building on Cheap Street in Newbury and make it into the new permanent home for their creative participation work.

The raffle will close at 12 noon on Thursday, May 23, with the winner being drawn and contacted the same day.

Raffle tickets can be purchased from https://cornexchangenew.com/raffle or by calling the box office on (01635) 522733.

Promising to be a lively evening of bar-room banter and new material, every penny raised from the event will go towards the fundraising target to reopen the historic Old Library.

Murray will be joined for the Corn Exchange fundraiser on Tuesday, June 25, by sell-out Fringe comedian Ania Magliano (I Can’t Believe You’ve Done This, Pleasance).

The show starts at 7.30pm.

£2.6m is needed to fulfil the Corn Exchange’s plans to open the Old Library in early 2025, £1m of which has been funded by Greenham Trust for the acquisition of the building, repairs, and conservation.

More than £50,000 has been raised through the public campsign launched last month.

Support has also been provided by Backstage Trust, Foyle Foundation, Garfield Weston Foundation and Syder Foundation.

The Corn Exchange’s creative initiatives focus

on improving access to high quality cultural experiences, particularly to improve mental health and to support our older communities and young people.

With their current work taking place in a temporary facility, this spectacular new venue will ensure a permanent space for their engagement with members of the local community and opens up more creative opportunities to all.
