In the battle over Colorado State transfer wide receiver Justus Ross-Simmons, it appeared as if the Florida Gators had everything locked up with the wideout. However, in a turn of events, Ross-Simmons spurned Orange State’s namesake university for a different kind of orange. The former Colorado State star wideout has opted to commit and play for the Syracuse Orange in 2024.

Ross-Simmons revealed his decision to transfer to Syracuse over Florida with a social media post, which was reposted to X by Jacob Rudner and can be seen in the image below.

The six-foot-three sophomore wide receiver is making his way across the country to find his new college football home. Ross Simmons was originally a part of Colorado State’s 2022 recruiting class. In the 2022 recruiting cycle, the Inglewood, CA native, who played his high school football at Inglewood High School, was a three-star recruit with a rating of 82.4. He ranked 1542 nationally, 220 at wide receiver, and 119 out of all the recruits coming out of California in 2022.

In his two years at Colorado State, Ross Emmons has seen ample playing time in all 24 games for the Rams. In those 24 games, he has recorded 71 receptions for 1148 yards, six touchdowns, and an average of 16.2 yards per reception. He is the ideal deep-threat wide receiver and has proven that thus far early in his collegiate career. Now, let’s see if Syracuse takes advantage of his deep-threat playmaking ability.
