Jamie Carragher predicts who will win this weekend between Arsenal and Tottenham

Jamie Carragher has now predicted who will win this weekend between Arsenal and Tottenham in the North London Derby.

The Gunners head into what will potentially be the biggest game of the season against Spurs, with a win for Mikel Arteta’s side potentially giving Arsenal the final boost they need to go on to lift the Premier League title.

Having just come off a 5-0 win against Chelsea, the mood around Arsenal is electric at the moment, with Tottenham last playing a game two weeks ago on April 13th with a surprise 4-0 loss to Newcastle United.

And Carragher has now predicted who he thinks will win on Sunday.

Arsenal predicted to beat Tottenham 2-1 this weekend

Speaking on Stick to Football, Carragher made the prediction that Arsenal would beat their north London rivals 2-1, with the pundit noting that Tottenham’s lack of football in the last two weeks could be a bad thing for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

Carragher said when asked what his precision is for the derby: “I think Arsenal win, Tottenham haven’t played for a long time, something like ten days or two weeks, which I don’t think is a good thing. I’m going 2-1 Arsenal.”

With Paul Merson making a similar prediction, the experts seem to view Arsenal as the favourites for this tie, with the Gunners showing on Tuesday night why they could go to Tottenham and get a famous result this season.

Indeed, a win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium could be the biggest Arsenal enjoy all year, and help from rival teams in beating Manchester City could make it that more sweeter heading into the final month of the season.

Arsenal need to believe they can create history on Sunday

This weekend’s North London Derby could be the biggest in Arsenal’s history in quite some years, with three points coupled with City slipping up something that will give a real boost to the Gunners’ chances of the title.

And after Tuesday’s win against Chelsea, there’s a real belief around the club that they can go to their old rival’s ground and get another win, with Arsenal claiming a 2-0 result in this fixture last season.

With Tottenham also not playing for two weeks, Arsenal will have the match sharpness needed to best Spurs to every ball, run and pass, and the Gunners will want another big result on the road this Sunday.
