Powerball ticket worth $50K sold at N.J. QuickChek

A $50,000 third-prize Powerball ticket was sold at a QuickChek in Middlesex County for Wednesday’s lottery drawing.

The lucky ticket was bought at the convenience store on Stelton Road in Piscataway, state lottery officials said Thursday. The ticket matched four numbers plus the Powerball.

Wednesday’s winning numbers were: 2, 20, 22, 26 and 47. The Powerball drawn was 21 with a Power Play of 4X.

No one across the country hit the $130 million jackpot. There were also no second-prize, $1 million tickets purchased for Wednesday’s drawing.

In addition, no one hit the secondary, $10 million Double Play jackpot or won the second-prize of $500,000. Those winning numbers were: 23, 25, 45, 46 and 62. The Double Play number drawn was 25.

The top prize for Saturday’s Powerball drawing will be an estimated $149 million with a cash option of $68.8 million.

The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers and win at least $1 million, while the odds are 913,129 to 1 to win a third prize of at least $50,000.

Powerball drawings are held each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot is worth an estimated $228 million with a cash option of $103.4 million.
