Exclusive: West Ham United considering Serie A manager and he's already studying English

West Ham United are yet to confirm whether their current manager David Moyes will stay beyond this season, but the club looking at options to replace the Scot.

Moyes is out of contract at the end of the season and had claimed that he had a contract offer from the club – although Hammers sources have denied that is the case.

Now TBR Football can confirmed that majority owner David Sullivan is looking at options to replace him and it is believed is doing due diligence on a number of names.

TBR understands that as well as Sporting Lisbon’s Ruben Amorim, who the club have spoken to, they have also have an interest in former Wolves and Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui, Lille’s Paulo Fonseca, Bayern Munich’s Thomas Tuchel and former Hammers midfielder Gary O’Neil.

And now another name has emerged on their radar…

Eusebio di Francesco interested in West Ham role

TBR can reveal Italian coach Eusebio Di Francesco is a name that that has been put to Sullivan and he is now doing his homework on the current Frosinone boss.

Di Francesco, who has previously taken charge of Roma and Sampdoria, is highly-regarded in Italy and made his name with Sassuolo taking them from Serie B to Serie A and also into Europe for the first-time.

The 54-year-old is now battling to keep Frosinone, who have one of the smallest budgets in the league, in Serie A – but he is doing a fine job with the pre-season relegation favourites.

However, Frosinone have a real battle on their hands to keep hold of Di Francesco as TBR understands that contact has been made with West Ham over Di Francesco. It is also understood that clubs such as Brighton and Brentford have him on their radar – if they were to lose their current bosses this summer.

Di Francesco is understood to be keen on making a move to the Premier League and is already learning English.

“I study English and speak with my grandson on Skype,” he told the Gazzetta della Modena.

“I have to be open to any kind of experience. Even whilst I was at Sassuolo and in recent times, I had offers from the Premier League and also, from Turkey and some national teams, even if I always made other decisions.”

Di Francesco is a good friend of Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi, who, succeeded him at Sassuolo and he is full of praise for the work he is doing in England.

“I appreciate him, he is a coach with a precise idea of football,” Di Francesco said.
