Kim Kardashian visited the White House, joining Vice President Kamala Harris for a roundtable discussion on criminal justice. Thanks to Kim’s law degree, the businesswoman has earned her spot.
The Kardashians star was filmed wearing a black blazer and trousers set, holding a black bag and walking up to the White House gates in heels. However, fans say Kim Kardashian is only using it as a “photo opp”.
Kim Kardashian’s White House visit
Kim Kardashian has paid the White House a visit, earning herself a seat at a roundtable discussion hosted by Vice President Kamala Harris. The meeting included four of 16 people convicted of drug offenses.
She sat at the Roosevelt Room on April 25, 2024, to discuss criminal justice reform, a matter Kim has been vocal about fighting for. Kim wrote she “can’t wait to share all about the second chances event”.
Kim took a pouting selfie in front of the huge building and shared a close-up of the official US President badge statue. A video has also gone viral of the Hulu star making her way up to the entrance.
As it appears Kim’s walk-in to the prestigious building was filmed for The Kardashians, fans are slamming her for using the visit as merely a “photo opportunity,” but some have Kim’s back.
One fan wrote, “This is so silly her walking this far for this photo op.” Another penned on social media, “For her the White House is a celebrity as if her taking photos of it changes anything.”
“A flipping photo op. She is a joke,” reacted a Twitter user. However, many fans have her back, with one writing, “She’s well-respected in this space by many people who actually do the work.”
Law degree lands Kim prestigious spot
After seeing Kim at the White House, many are asking if she’s a qualified lawyer, and the answer is: no. She wrote in August 2023 she hasn’t yet completed the bar, the exam to become a certified lawyer.
However, she has been using her platform to represent and fight for justice for prisoners facing the death penalty. She first registered with the California State Bar to study law and passed her baby bar in 2021.
She had to pass the baby bar as she is currently studying law without attending a traditional, state-accredited law school, and scored 100/100 on a law midterm exam in 2023.
