Royal commentator Angela Levin has piled praise on Kate Middleton after she had a "very good change of mind" over a birthday photograph for Prince Louis.
The future Queen marked her youngest son’s sixth birthday by uploading an adorable image of the Prince beaming on the Kensington Royal social media pages.
However, at the beginning of the day royal fans grew concerned about the prospect of no image in a potential break from royal tradition.
Kate eventually posted a new photograph in the afternoon, despite having traditionally provided it to the press under an embargo the day before.
Speaking to GBN America, Levin said: "He's delightful, mischievous, fun and a real sweetie.
"When the photograph didn't come through the night that it usually does, with the embargo for the papers, I thought, I can't bear this.

"Perhaps his mother's not well enough even to do this photograph. But when it came through mid-morning the next day, I thought it was absolutely wonderful, a beautiful photograph. He's smiling.
"You can see the difference between a five-year-old and a six-year-old. He looked much more grown up, and he had one missing tooth down there and I wanted to give him a huge hug."
She added: "They changed their mind. They weren't going to do it, and then they thought they wanted to thank the public.
"We love her children. It's very nice that she did change her mind because I think there would have been a lot of worry and awful rumours if she hadn't. So it was a very good change of mind and it was done her way by herself taking the picture and good luck to her."
Alongside the sweet snap of the young prince lying in the grass, Kate wrote: “Happy 6th Birthday, Prince Louis! Thank you for all the kind wishes today.”
Last month, Kate caused controversy by admitting she posted an edited photograph of her family to mark Mother’s Day.
The photograph was pulled from several photo agencies leaving the princess to apologise for any “confusion” on social media.
Catherine said: "Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing.
"I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused."
She added: "I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day."
The Princess of Wales bravely revealed her cancer diagnosis in a televised statement a few weeks later and asked for privacy so she and her family could come to terms with the news while she underwent "preventative chemotherapy".
