Will there be Bluey season 4 or is this the end?

The third season of Bluey has come to an end, leaving children and their parents with the burning question: Will there be a sequel to the lovable hit series? Or is this the end?

Please note this article contains spoilers.

Episode 48 of the show, titled ‘Ghostbasket’, provoked speculation that the creators may be planning to end the story of the Australian family of doggies. Indeed, the Heelers wanted to sell their house, and the episode ended with a frame with a sad For Sale sign on the front lawn.

However, in the 28-minute long special episode ‘The Sign’, fans round the world breathed a collective sigh of relief as the Heelers decided to stay in their home after all with Bandit dramatically ripping the for sale out of the ground.

Then, the rollercoaster took another turn with the release of episode 50. The final episode of season 3, ‘Surprise’, gave us a glimpse into the future with a gown-up Bluey visiting her now-aged parents. It appeared to be the final curtain for the show.

Is there a chance for another instalment of the internationally adored series? Here’s everything we know about the Bluey creators’ plans.

Will there be a season 4 of Bluey?

When could Bluey season 4 release?

The creators haven’t revealed the release date of the next instalment of Bluey. However, we will try to predict when season 4 might air.

The first season of the story appeared in 2018, the first part in October, and the second in April 2019. Season 2 kicked off a year later. Part 1 debuted in March 2020, and Part 2 in October.

Season 3 premiered in September 2021, but was split into four parts, the last of which appeared in April 2024.

The creators of Bluey try to release new seasons one year after the end of the previous one. According to our calculations, the fourth season could, therefore, appear in spring 2025.

However, in an interview with Australia’s The Courier Mail, executive producer Daley Pearson mentioned the fatigue from the intense work on the series.

Given this statement, Bluey season 4 may come a little later.

What could the plot of Bluey season 4 be about?

As mentioned earlier, the last episode of season 3 surprised audiences by featuring an adult Bluey who, along with her child, came to visit Bandit and Chilli.

Some viewers began to wonder if the next season would involve a time jump and, with it, older characters.

The show’s creators haven’t yet revealed their plot ideas for the next season of Bluey. However, as show creator Joe Brumm said in an interview with Deadline:

It looks like anything could happen in Bluey season 4 but fans are now dying to know, among other things, who the father to Bluey’s (assumed) child is, Mackenzie or Jean-Luc.

Who may appear in the cast of Bluey season 4?

The cast of Bluey season 4 hasn’t been confirmed, but it’s likely that David McCormack as Bandit Heeler and Melanie Zanetti as Chilli Heeler will return to their roles.

The following season will probably include Dan Brumm (Uncle Stripe), Myf Warhurst (Aunt Trixie), Claudia O’Doherty (Aunt Frisky), Chris Brumm (Nana) and Patrick Brammall (Uncle Rad).
