'The one': Martin Keown says £60m attacker Arsenal have reportedly made a top target is on 'another level'

Arsenal have made yet more progress this year, reaching the Champions League quarter-finals and remaining in contention for the Premier League title.

Since Mikel Arteta took the Arsenal reins in 2019, the Gunners have gone from strength to strength and are now one of the best teams in the country once again.

We’re likely to see Arsenal involved in the summer transfer market as Arteta looks to apply the finishing touches to his squad.

Midfield and attack are two areas in the Gunners team where Edu and Arteta could look to strengthen over the coming months.

Arsenal midfielders Thomas Partey, Fabio Vieira and Albert Sambi Lokonga face uncertain futures at the Emirates Stadium.

Meanwhile, cover for Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli is certainly needed on the flanks.

Now, one player the Gunners are said to be pursuing has just been praised by Highbury legend Martin Keown.

The player in question is Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze, who has made a name for himself as one of the best talents in the Premier League.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal and Manchester United have made the 25-year-old a top target, while Manchester City have also been linked with the winger.

Palace have reportedly placed a valuation of £60million-plus on Eze, with negotiations for Michael Olise also set to start at the same amount.

What has Martin Keown said about Arsenal target Eberechi Eze?

Keown said on talkSPORT on Friday: “I think Eze is the one.

“I watched him really closely, was on the pitch when he played against Arsenal earlier this season, and he looks to me now he is ready to go.

“Palace fans won’t enjoy me saying it, but he just looks now at another level. I think it’s going to be difficult for them to hold onto those two players (Eze and Michael Olise).”

Eze is a versatile player who has featured on both flanks, and at No. 6, No. 8 and No. 10 for Palace over the past four years, as per Transfermarkt.

We’ve all seen what Eze can do in the Premier League, and there’s no doubt he’d be an incredible signing for Arsenal who could help take them to yet another level.
