Mikel Arteta calls up 17-year-old Arsenal gem to training before NLD, Wilshere raved about him two weeks ago

Arsenal take on Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby this weekend in what is a huge game for both clubs.

Mikel Arteta‘s side are still fighting for the Premier League. They are currently on top of the table, but Manchester City, who have a game in hand, are just a point behind.

Arsenal have to win the derby on Sunday to stay alive in the title race, and Tottenham Hotspur would love nothing more than to spoil their party this weekend.

Both teams have been hard at work at their respective training grounds this week ahead of the big game, and one thing caught our eye at the Sobha Realty Training Centre today.

Arteta has called up an exciting 17-year-old to first-team training.

Osman Kamara spotted in Arsenal first-team training ahead of Tottenham clash

Arsenal have one of the best youth setups in the country.

The Gunners have produced some unbelievable talents at Hale End over the years. Some of them have even made it into Mikel Arteta’s senior side.

Bukayo Saka is the obvious one and he is a superstar. Emile Smith Rowe is another who came through Hale End, as did the likes of Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah.

Arsenal have a few more really exciting young players coming through the ranks, and the ones who catch the eye are often given opportunities to train with the first team.

One player who got the nod today is young Osman Kamara.

The 17-year-old winger is having a fine season with the youth teams. He has scored nine goals in the U18 Premier League in just 13 appearances, which is a phenomenal return for a wide player.

Kamara was called up to train with the Arsenal first-team today ahead of their big game against Tottenham this weekend.

What Jack Wilshere said about Osman Kamara should excite Arsenal fans

Jack Wilshere knows exactly what it takes to come through the ranks in the academy and make it into the first-team for Arsenal.

The Englishman, who is now the U18s manager, is the perfect man for the job, and his experience will do a world of good for all the young players at the club.

Just two weeks ago, following an 8-1 win against West Ham in the U18 Premier League, Wilshere raved about Kamara’s performance in that game.

The teenager, 17, scored two goals to help the young Gunners pick up an emphatic win.

Wilshere said: “I love Ozzy, and I’ve loved him ever since I’ve come into this job. He’s got the mentality that we talk about, and he’s improved so much.

“Today, we saw the real Osman, the one who’s free and ready to get on the ball and take on his man.”
