April 2004: Grants totalling £1,250 from the Safer West Norfolk Steering Group and the Marshland Activities Group, helped provide new equipment for Clenchwarton’s teen Drop-In centre. April 2004: Youngsters at Sporle First School greet new headteacher Malcolm Brockway on his first day at the school. He was previously deputy headteacher at Whitefriars Primary School in Lynn and before that at Greyfriars Primary School in the town. Sporle was one of five schools in the Swaffham area where major improvements were to be carried out.
April 2011: Gooderstone Cricket Club members and friends are pictured with their new equipment, purchased thanks to a £10,000 grant from Sport England. The cash was used to get a new motorised roller, portable net cage and pitch covers.
April 2004: Selecting the best from a display of beautifully designed Easter bonnets created by residents at Heacham’s Neville Court caused a headache for the judges. Some of the residents are pictured here along with entertainer Fred Grice at the front.
April 2007: The Duke of Edinburgh chats to scouts after unveiling Anmer’s new village sign. Norfolk scouts had wanted to celebrate its 100th anniversary by presenting Anmer with a new sign as the old one had become worn and weathered.
April 2007: Locals at the King’s Head in Great Bircham celebrate after the pub was voted the best in West Norfolk by the local branch of CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale). In the foreground, Tim Spitzer and Andrea Briers of CAMRA present the award to King’s Head owner William Poole.
April 2007: The “Crafty Cockney”, former world darts champion Eric Bristow, took on and beat 18 local players when he visited the Hilgay Rose and Crown pub. Bristow is pictured shaking hands with the landlord Brian Hewitt.
April 2007: Pupils at Terrington St Clement Primary School celebrated St George’s Day with a variety of events, including decorating special St George’s Day buns provided by Morrison’s supermarket in Lynn. This patriotic quartet are, from left, Ryan Wilson, Natalie Warnes, Emma Walton and Alex Bly.
April 2012: Members of Dersingham Evening Women’s Institute celebrated the group’s 50th anniversary with a dinner at St Cecilia’s Church hall and they are pictured here with the president, Olive McCrea.
