Arsenal will be on the lookout for new signings over the next few weeks.
Indeed, while all the focus may be on the title race at the moment, the transfer window is also just around the corner, and make no mistake about it, Edu will be hard at work identifying targets and strategies for Arsenal this summer.
By the sounds of things, the Gunners will be looking to add a new midfielder in the summer.
Indeed, the likes of Martin Zubimendi and Douglas Luiz have been named as concrete targets, while Bruno Guimaraes is also said to be a player the north London club are keen on.
Of course, Arsenal were keen on Guimaraes a few years ago, and while a deal didn’t happen, according to Charles Watts, speaking on Inside Arsenal, Edu is actually very close with the midfielder’s agents.

Watts shared what he knows about the £40m midfielder.
“Arsenal missed out on Bruno Guimaraes. It never happened because there was never any bid from Arsenal for Bruno. Edu is very close to Bruno’s agents, he knows them well, but that’s as far as it got. There was probably some interest there, but it was never firmed up into a bid,” Watts said.

Bruno Guimaraes could be the perfect signing for Arsenal this summer.
The Gunners have been quite unbalanced in midfield at times this season as Kai Havertz, Jorginho and Thomas Partey have all jostled for position.
However if Guimaraes came in, Arsenal would have a clear first-choice midfield pairing of Guimaraes and Declan Rice, and, in all honesty, that may well be the best midfield pairing in Europe if the Gunners managed to unite those two players.
This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on, especially given Edu’s connection with the £40m man’s agents.
