'Extremely vulnerable': Chris Sutton has now predicted result of Wolves v Luton Town today

Chris Sutton has now shared his prediction for the Premier League clash between Wolves and Luton Town this afternoon.

Having extended their winless run to six matches at home to Bournemouth on Wednesday night, Wolves are looking to bounce back by beating strugglers Luton Town this afternoon.

Gary O’Neil described the performance against the Cherries as the worst he’s seen this season but says his side are desperate to put that right against the Hatters and expects them to be bang at it.

He told Wolves official: “The lads are desperate to finish as high as we can and they’ve shown it pretty much every week.

“We fell below that, not through a lack of effort, but they understand we can’t fall behind that two games on the trot and we need to make sure we’re bang at it tomorrow.”

The only positive from their defeat to Bournemouth was Matheus Cunha‘s return, who impressed for the final 35 minutes from the bench.

The Brazilian will be looking to run riot against a Luton side with the second-worst defence in the division.

Chris Sutton predicts Wolves vs Luton Town

Chris Sutton has issued his prediction ahead of the match and expects the hosts to pile further misery onto the Premier League strugglers.

Although the Wanderers have four players out, including Craig Dawson, Pedro Neto, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Santiago Bueno, Sutton thinks the Old Gold are good enough to expose the visitor’s frailties, predicting O’Neil’s men to secure a 3-1 victory.

For BBC Sport, the 51-year-old said: “Wolves are in awful form so this might seem like a good fixture for Luton, who are desperate for points. I am not so sure it will work out that way.

“I watched the Hatters’ lose 5-1 at home to Brentford last week and while they play expansive football which means they carry an attacking threat, it means they are extremely vulnerable at the back.

“Luton’s approach is to be brave, and I understand that, but the Bees could have scored eight or nine and Wolves are good enough to expose those frailties too.”

The reverse fixture at Kenilworth Road ended 1-1 with a Carlton Morris penalty cancelling Neto’s opener.

Wolves can’t pass up this chance

Luton may be fighting for their lives at the bottom, but on evidence of recent results, this is a huge chance for Wolves to return to winning ways.

The Hatters were pasted 5-1 by Brentford last weekend as the Bees’ forward trio of Bryan Mbeumo, Keane Lewis-Potter and Yoane Wissa ran riot.

O’Neil’s men will take encouragement from that result and how open they were by looking to wreak havoc themselves.

Cunha looked sharp from the bench against Bournemouth while combining his quality alongside Rayan Ait-Nouri and Hwang Hee-Chan could be the recipe for success.

On the counter is where Wolves could catch their opponents out as they look to secure a victory that will hopefully kick start a strong end to the season.
