Heavy fighting continues in the area of the village of Ocheretyne in the Pokrovsk district, Donetsk region. Although the Ukrainian Armed Forces do not control a third of its territory, it remains under constant fire control, says a spokesperson of the Khortytsia Operational Strategic Group of Forces, Nazar Voloshyn.

As he explained, the Russian military deployed additional reserves there - the 55th separate motorized rifle brigade - to break through the Ukrainian defense in the Novobakhmutivka - Ocheretyne direction.

"As of now, two-thirds of this settlement (Ocheretyne - ed.) is under our control. The part of the settlement where the enemy broke through is under our fire control. The enemy is blocked, and we are taking measures to eliminate it from there. Heavy fighting is ongoing there, but the situation is under control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces," Voloshyn said.

The situation is similar in Soloviove village, approximately two-thirds of the settlement is under the control of Ukrainian forces.

Hottest fronts

As the spokesperson says, the hottest directions are Novopavlivka, Bakhmut, and Avdiivka.

"The situation is controlled by defense forces. The Russian army does not cease attempts to storm the positions of Ukrainian troops along the entire front line. The goal is to reach the administrative borders of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions," he stated.

Situation in Ocheretyne

The situation in Ocheretyne has been escalating in recent days. According to a report from the Institute for the Study of War on April 27 with reference to Voloshyn, currently, the Ukrainian Armed Forces control two-thirds of Ocheretyne and prevent further advancement of Russian troops in this area.

On April 25 and 26, some Russian war correspondents claimed that Ukrainian forces had allegedly withdrawn from Ocheretyne to Arkhanhelske (northeast of Ocheretyne and northwest of Avdiivka). However, some reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces still maintained positions in northwestern Ocheretyne.
