'Difference-maker': Chris Sutton says £60m attacker reportedly wanted by Arsenal is just 'too good'

Arsenal are likely to get involved in the summer transfer window as Mikel Arteta’s rebuilding job continues to take shape.

Since the Spaniard took the reins in 2019, the Gunners have gone from a shadow of their former selves to competing for the Premier League title and the Champions League again.

However, Arsenal still have some way to go. Although they’re still in title contention, Manchester City are now favourites to triumph. And they’ll need more quality to compete against Europe’s elite.

As the Gunners weren’t particularly involved in the January transfer window, there’s a good chance they’ll look to bolster their ranks further in the upcoming market.

One player they’ve been linked with has been lighting up the Premier League and he looks ready for a move to one of England’s top clubs.

The player in question is Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze, who has gone from strength to strength at Selhurst Park over the past few years.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal and Manchester United have made the 25-year-old a top target this summer, while Manchester City have also been linked.

Palace have reportedly placed a price tag of £60million-plus on Eze, with negotiations for Michael Olise also expected to start at the same amount.

Eze has earned plaudits from many pundits in recent months, and Chris Sutton is just the latest to sing the reported Gunners target’s praises.

What has Chris Sutton said about reported Arsenal target Eberechi Eze?

Sutton said on BBC’s Football Focus on Saturday: “Eberechi Eze is a class act.

“The truth is, Crystal Palace are a well run club but he will have aims to go higher up, to win Premier Leagues and Champions Leagues.

“He is a difference-maker, he is good enough to go higher, probably too good for Palace.”

Eze has proven a cut above at Palace and certainly looks like he has what it takes to impress at a team like Arsenal.

And at just 25 years of age, he’s not even in his prime yet. It would be exciting to see how he would fare in a team like Arsenal.
