Penn State football had eight players drafted in the 2024 NFL Draft, but three prominent Nittany Lions defenders didn’t hear their names during the three-day event. However, not every Penn State player heard their name called. Check out our UDFA tracker for the remaining Nittany Lions.

Jacobs, a three-year starter for Penn State, signed a UDFA contract with the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday night after the three-day draft had concluded. The Chiefs also selected Jacobs’ teammate, Hunter Nourzad, in the fifth round of the draft earlier in the day.

Jacobs was a mainstay on the Penn State defense for three seasons. He tallied 105 career tackles, 24 TFLs, two interceptions, and one forced fumble for the Nittany Lions. The Penn State linebacker also appeared in 45 career games.

After his final game for the Nittany Lions, Jacobs made the decsion to bulk up for the NFL Draft. He showed up at the NFL combine in February at 241 pounds and still ran a sub-4.60 40-yard dash. He also jumped 35 inches in the vertical and added a 10-9 broad jump during the Penn State Pro Day.

Unfortunately for Jacobs, he never got a chance to prove that he could play in the box as a linebacker. The emergence of Abdul Carter meant that Jacobs spent a large number of snaps playing field linebacker for Penn State, a position that doesn’t exist in the NFL. However, Jacobs will get a chance to prove he can play between the tackles for the Chiefs.
