Rite Aid in northern N.J. is set to close. Here’s the last day you can shop its ‘going out of business’ sale

A Rite Aid in Hackensack is holding a "going out of business" sale and is set to close in the next two months.

A Rite Aid in Hackensack in northern New Jersey is holding a “going out of business” sale and is set to close in the next two months.

This is the latest in the retail pharmacy’s push to close 200 stores across the U.S. since they filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last fall.

The pharmacy, which is located on 216 Essex Street, will hold its last day of business on May 16 and will officially close on June 16.

The closures come as the company tries to figure out what to do with its debt load amid many opioid-related lawsuits.

The pharmacy chain announced it would be closing 400 to 500 stores to deal with its debt woes in October 2023.

Here are the following stores that are closing or are already closed in New Jersey. Note that the location in bold is the newest closure:
