TV star's 'very scary' cancer diagnosis went under the radar for two years

Over the past four years, Aussie lad Harry Jowsey has become a globally-recognized star. He shot to fame on MTV’s Too Hot To Handle and now has an ever-growing fan base. Addressing his followers in a latest social media post, Harry revealed his recent “very scary” skin cancer diagnosis.

Harry was one of the OGs and winners of Too Hot To Handle season 1. Since his initial reality TV stardom, he’s gone on to appear on more shows including Dancing With The Stars. He’s also a podcast host and a social media sensation these days. Given his presence online, it makes sense for Harry to spread the word about his recent health scare and raise awareness for skin cancer.

Harry Jowsey’s cancer diagnosis

On April 26, Harry posted a selfie video to TikTok where he says: “Hi friends, there isn’t really an easy way to say this but last week I went to a dermatologist to get my skin checked…”

He continues: “They found some skin cancer on me.”

Describing himself as a “freckly little frog,” Harry urges his followers to “go and get a mole map” to ensure they’re on top of their skin health.

He added: “You never know. I’ve had this on my shoulder for like a year or two. I had no idea.”

Harry is going to be ‘all good’

Reassuring his fan base, reality star Harry quickly added how he’s “going to be all good” following the diagnosis.

He added: “I’m going to be OK.”

The 26-year-old wants to raise awareness, and said how he wants to remind people how “summer is around the corner” and urges his followers to “wear sunscreen.”

He added: “Please wear it, please go and get your skin checked.”

Rounding off his message, he urged his fans to “be more responsible” when it comes to their skin health because “that’s what he’s got to do now” and “it’s very scary.”

Many people took to the comments section of Harry’s post, including his former co-stars who shared “love” following the “scary” news.

More shared their experiences of skin cancer, with one commenting: “It happened to me too, the surgery is intense.”

Harry replied that he is going for his surgery “on Tuesday” with an upsidedown smiling emoji.
