‘Has been poor’: Jamie O’Hara urges Ange Postecoglou to start 22-year-old over £25m Tottenham star vs Arsenal

Jamie O’Hara has named the front three he’d like to see Ange Postecoglou pick for Tottenham Hotspur against Arsenal today.

Tottenham are set to host Arsenal on Sunday afternoon and will be hoping to land a huge dent in their rivals’ title hopes.

The Gunners sit just a point clear of Manchester City, with Pep Guardiola’s men set to travel to Nottingham Forest later today.

Spurs will also have the opportunity to capitalise on Aston Villa’s collapse at home to Chelsea yesterday.

The Villains threw away a two-goal lead at Villa Park and were forced to settle for a point, leaving Spurs seven points behind with three games in hand.

Of course, Tottenham have enjoyed a two-week break since a disappointing 4-0 defeat at St James’ Park.

It was a frustrating afternoon for Ange Postecoglou last time out, with his side failing to make the most of a positive start to the game before Newcastle went on to pick up a deserved victory.

And ahead of a huge north London derby today, Jamie O’Hara has explained why he’d like to see Brennan Johnson start over Dejan Kulusevski today.

O’Hara wants Brennan Johnson to start over Dejan Kulusevski

Speaking on talkSPORT (27/04 7:22 pm), O’Hara said he’d pick Johnson over Kulusevski to start off the right-hand side today.

The former Tottenham man would also like to see Richarlison return to the starting line-up following a spell on the sidelines.

“I am not sure what he [Postecoglou] is going to do,” O’Hara said. “I have to trust Ange in what he does.

“In terms of fitness as well, I don’t know how Richarlison is. Richarlison went through a decent run of form, actually scored some goals. I would probably give him a game.

“Brennan Johnson, pace on the right. I like Brennan Johnson off the bench, but Kulusevski has been poor this season. He has not been great the last few months. I don’t think he has had a great season.

“Werner – he lets you down, he doesn’t score enough goals. I would play Son, Richarlison and Brennan Johnson. I would. Brennan Johnson frustrates the life out of me, but he has got loads of talent.”

Kulusevski struggling for form ahead of Tottenham vs Arsenal

Kulusevski has been one of the first names on the team sheet for large spells this season. But the Swede has found himself on the bench for Tottenham’s last three Premier League games.

Postecoglou has preferred Johnson over the £25 million man of late, with Timo Werner starting off the left-hand side.

Ahead of the defeat at Newcastle, Johnson had been in fine form for Spurs, having a hand in five goals in his last six games.

The 22-year-old has proven to be a brilliant option off the bench for Postecoglou too but with Kulusevski struggling for form, you’d imagine Johnson will get the nod today.

Having Richarlison back will also be a huge boost for the Spurs boss as he’s lacked another option through the middle in the Brazilian’s absence.
