‘Deal to be completed’: Fabrizio Romano shares exciting Arne Slot to Liverpool update this morning

Fabrizio Romano has shared the latest on Arne Slot’s proposed move to Liverpool as the Feyenoord boss edges closer to being named as Jurgen Klopp’s successor.

It’s been a slightly disappointing week for Liverpool fans as they’ve watched their side fall behind in the race for the Premier League title.

Off the back of a 2-0 defeat in the Merseyside Derby on Wednesday, the Reds were held to a 2-2 draw at West Ham yesterday.

The results could all but end Liverpool’s hopes of securing a farewell title for Jurgen Klopp, with Arsenal and Manchester City aiming to capitalise today.

But there has been significant progress in naming Klopp’s successor over the past few days as Arne Slot looks set to be the man to take over from the German next season.

TBR confirmed on Friday that Liverpool had reached an agreement in principle with Feyenoord, as well as personal terms with Slot.

An announcement is likely to come next week and Slot has already been vocal about his desire to secure a switch to Anfield.

Romano shares latest on Arne Slot to Liverpool

Romano took to X on Saturday morning and shared the latest on Slot’s proposed move to Liverpool.

The transfer insider claims the Reds will pay Feyenoord a fee worth around €11m to land the Dutchman, with his backroom staff taking the total fee above €13m.

He also claims that Liverpool and Feyenoord have prepared all the documents, which are ready to be completed.

Slot is an exciting option for Liverpool

While not many Liverpool fans would have had Slot in the picture just a few weeks ago, it could be an exciting move for the Reds.

Many expected either Xabi Alonso or Ruben Amorim to replace Klopp but moves for both managers have failed to materialise.

In Slot, Liverpool will be getting a manger who is committed to playing a brand of football that is easy on the eye.

Indeed, European football expert Kevin Hatchard has claimed that Liverpool’s current squad would suit the 45-year-old’s demands.

He certainly has big shoes to fill due to the impact Klopp has managed at the club over the past eight and a half years.
