Shea Lacey and Tammy Abraham send Jadon Sancho messages as he makes Bundesliga history

Jadon Sancho has yet another moment to remember away from Manchester United.

Despite the game ending in a 4-1 thrashing against RB Leipzig, the Manchester United loanee will be personally thrilled to get on the scoresheet with what was a wondergoal in the Bundesliga.

The 24-year-old channelled the Sancho of old in the 20th minute of the game, cutting in on his right off the left-hand side and firing an expertly guided strike into the top-right corner of a helpless Peter Gulacsi’s net.

This goal for the Black and Yellow means Sancho is now a Bundesliga record-breaker.

Jadon Sancho is now a Bundesliga record-breaker

Back in March 2024, Sancho’s strike against Werder Bremen in Germany’s top flight meant that he now sat level on a Bundesliga record.

With his latest strike against Leipzig on Saturday, Sancho now has 40 goals in the Bundesliga – meaning he is now the English record goalscorer in German top-flight history.

He surpassed Tony Woodcock, who scored 39 times whilst playing for FC Koln back in the 1980s. Despite Sancho obtaining the record, we don’t think he’ll keep hold of it for long.

That’s because previously linked Manchester United target Harry Kane is in absolutely electric form for Bayern Munich.

Kane is already on 33 goals, meaning he could very well pass his fellow countryman before the season concludes.

Sancho took to Instagram to acknowledge the record-breaking achievement. He wrote the following:

‘A result to reflect on… thank you for the travelling fans who came to support us today! @bvb09 🟡⚫️
A bittersweet moment also for breaking the English record goal scorer in the Bundesliga surpassing the legend Tony Woodcock! 🙏🏼’

Sancho was congratulated by a number of professional footballers in the comments, including Manchester United academy star Shea Lacey and former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham.

Well in Jadon. How many more can he score before the Bundesliga season concludes?
