Adrian Clarke says 'quality' Arsenal star can really 'hurt' Tottenham today

Pundit Adrian Clarke has identified one Arsenal player who could cause Tottenham some real damage later today in the North London Derby.

The Gunners head into this afternoon’s clash against Spurs with the Premier League title potentially on the line, with Arsenal in a position in the race where just one slip up in their remaining four games could result in Manchester City running away with the championship.

After Tuesday’s 5-0 thrashing against Chelsea, Arsenal head to Tottenham in perfect form, with Kai Havertz scoring a brace on the night as Martin Odegaard was at his creative best at the Emirates Stadium.

And Tottenham have now been warned that one Arsenal player could cause them real problems.

Pundit highlights Martin Odegaard threat for the North London Derby

Writing for the Premier League’s official website, former Arsenal star identified Martin Odegaard as the player who could cause Tottenham some real issues if Spurs fail to mark the 25-year-old midfielder.

With Jamie O’Hara issuing a similar message to Tottenham, it’s clear that Odegaard will be the man who could define the North London Derby, and Arsenal will want their captain to be on fire later today.

Clarke wrote: “Leading from the front, in and out of possession, Odegaard’s form could be the difference in Sunday’s north London derby. Arsenal’s captain supplied two excellent assists in the 5-0 win against Chelsea, on a night where he created eight chances, his highest total in a Premier League match.

“Based on recent displays, the 25-year-old has never looked sharper, more confident or as effective than he has since the turn of the year. If Tottenham Hotspur do not get to grips with the division’s most influential attacking midfielder, he can hurt them with his quality.”

Arsenal need their captain to step up if they’re to beat Tottenham

Odegaard’s form since the turn of the year has been nothing short of incredible, with the Norwegian international delivering some of the best playmaking performances of the season from a Premier League midfielder.

And for Arsenal, they will need their captain to step up once again if they’re to beat Tottenham today, with three points on enemy territory a huge step towards a first Premier League title in 20 years.

Indeed, Odegaard is one of the world’s best midfielders and a player who can dictate an entire game all on their own, and the 25-year-old will want to play his part today for Arsenal against Tottenham.
