‘Massive’… Jamie Carragher delivers honest verdict on Jurgen Klopp and Mohamed Salah situation

Jamie Carragher has shared his opinion about the current Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp situation at Liverpool.

In the last month, things have gone a little bleak at Liverpool. Everyone wanted a fairy tale ending for Jurgen Klopp’s final season at the club.

However, things have completely collapsed in April. Liverpool have been eliminated in the Europa League and look completely out of the title race after winning just one of their last five Premier League matches.

Things were made even worse against West Ham United when Klopp appeared to get into a heated argument with Mohamed Salah, just before the Egyptian was introduced on the pitch.

It is moot what went on between the pair of them. But whatever it was, it does not look good from the optics.

Jamie Carragher’s verdict on the Jurgen Klopp and Mohamed Salah situation

The last thing you want to be doing at this stage of the season, and this close to Klopp’s departure is arguing openly in front of the cameras.

We understand Salah’s frustration. He will want to play, and he is a winner, who will be bitterly disappointed by what has transpired in the last few weeks.

But we also understand why Klopp decided to drop the Egyptian twice in the last three games. Salah just hasn’t been performing to the standards he has set over the years.

Taking to his X account, Jamie Carragher shared his opinion of the matter, and urged fans not to take sides.

What does the future hold for Mohamed Salah at Liverpool?

Given his performances over the last few weeks, Salah’s future is up in the air at Liverpool. He will be 32-years-old this summer.

With just one year left on his contract, it’s moot whether Michael Edwards and FSG would be open to giving him the extension he wants.

So, given how interested Saudi Arabian clubs were in his services last summer, if a similar level of interest comes in for him this summer, it would not be a surprise to see Liverpool sell the Egyptian.
