Celtic team vs Dundee confirmed: Rare start, global TV details, instant reaction

Manager Brendan Rodgers has named his Celtic team vs Dundee for today’s Scottish Premiership match at Dens Park.

The full match squad is as follows:

Starting XI – Hart, Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Taylor, McGregor, O’Riley, Hatate, Kuhn, Forrest, Kyogo.

Substitutes – Bain, Palma, Idah, Yang, Nawrocki, Iwata, Bernardo, Kelly, Ralston.

With just five matches to go in the ongoing league title race with Rangers, today’s another must-win affair for the Bhoys.

There’s simply no room for error at this stage of the season and fans will demand no excuses in the search for the three points this afternoon.

Rodgers has made one change to his team that came through last week’s gruelling test against Aberdeen. James Forrest returns to the line-up in place of Hyunjun Yang.

Broadcast details

The 3pm kick-off is live on Sky Sports Football in the UK & Ireland.

Club streaming service Celtic TV will also be providing coverage for supporters outside of the region.

Many channels from around the world will broadcast live coverage, too, including Paramount+ in the United States and beIN Sports in Australia. A full list of global channels can be found via LiveSoccerTV.

BBC Radio Scotland are carrying audio commentary across their platforms online and over the airwaves.

Instant verdict on Celtic team vs Dundee

Today’s eleven is almost exactly the same as the one we proposed on 67 Hail Hail earlier, so there are no complaints here.

The only talking point will be the selection of Liam Scales in place of Maik Nawrocki after the Irishman’s shaky display at Hampden last week. Some Celtic fans have been clamouring for him to be dropped.

However, Rodgers has stayed faithful to Scales all season and he’s clearly in no mind to cast him aside at the most crucial stage of the season. Hopefully, the defender can repay that loyalty with a strong showing today.

Forrest’s rare starting selection is deserved, having not been named in the eleven since November. He’s been impressive off the bench in recent weeks and everyone is eager to see whether he can do it from the first minute today.
