Arne Slot has transformed £30m defender who dreams of Liverpool, he could be his first signing

A defender who is rated at £30m is dreaming of signing for Liverpool and he could be Arne Slot’s first signing.

It looks like Arne Slot will be Liverpool’s new manager. The 45-year-old has been picked out as the man to replace Jurgen Klopp.

To many, he will have been a surprise candidate. However, his appointment seems like a really smart decision from FSG and Michael Edwards.

Slot is a likeable character, with a similar sense of humour and demeanour to Klopp. He also plays an exciting brand of football, that has proven to be very successful not only in the Eredivisie but in Europe as well.

And on top of that, he has the ability to bring the best out of his players.

Why David Hancko could be Arne Slot’s first Liverpool signing

One player who developed a lot under Arne Slot is David Hancko. Arriving from Sparta Prague, Hancko has become one of the best defenders in the Eredivisie under Slot during the last two seasons.

He is someone who has already been on Liverpool’s radar, and has the ability to play out from the back while being a left-footed centre-back.

That’s exactly the type of profile Liverpool will be looking to target in the summer transfer window, and bringing in someone who already has a good working relationship with Slot would make sense.

Not to mention, Hancko has already admitted moving to Liverpool would be a dream come true.

“It all started with the Istanbul Champions League final in 2005, which my parents allowed me to watch until the end, and I didn’t have to go to bed even when extra time was going on. And then came Martin Škrtel,” Hancko told Aktuality.

“I have been a Liverpool fan ever since. I follow the English Premier League the most, so that is my dream. My role model has always been David Beckham, but I feel most for Liverpool. So far nothing is happening. Because of my new contract, it won’t be easy. If there is a possibility and it is good for us, why not?”

What has David Hancko’s agent said?

Hancko’s agent Branislav Jašurek was asked about Liverpool’s interest earlier this year and confirmed that they have held talks with the club.

“As an agency, we are in contact not only with these two clubs, but also with others who are looking into Dávid’s situation,” he told TNCZ.

“I estimate that 80-90 per cent David will stay in Rotterdam [this month] because Feyenoord is fighting for the Champions League and the people at Feyenoord know that Dávid Hancko will be sold even in the summer and maybe better than now.”

Hancko is valued at around £30m according to Transfermarkt, which would make him an absolute bargain in this market. All in all, it would not surprise us if he was Arne Slot’s first Liverpool signing.
