Nottingham Dot To Dot music festival to return in May

An annual music festival has announced the third wave of artists to perform across several venues in the city centre.

Dot to Dot festival will return to Nottingham city centre on Sunday, May 25 filling the streets with exciting and diverse music genres as embracing rising talent remains a mission for the festival.

Some of the names to make their way to this year’s headline include returning higher up in the bill following their 2022 performances – Jockstrap and Wunderhorse will return as second stage headliners.

28 new names have been announced to head to stages on the May bank holiday weekend.

Art-pop musician, visual artist and designer Saya Gray is amongst those announced, creating music that captivates the soul, the Toronto raised, Japanese-Scottish artist burst onto the scene in 2020 with her debut single SHALL (PPL SWIM IN SHALLOW WATER).

Stockwell-born rapper Len also joins the list of acts, developing a cult-like following and infesting the underground scene, Len has cultivated his own audience since surfacing on Soundcloud in 2017, instantly gaining attention from nationwide audiences.

Charlotte Plank, singer, writer and producer has released a string of her own poppy drum & bass anthems and collaborated with scene legends Rudimental.

Dublin newcomer Annie-Dog also heads to Bristol and Nottingham, her material delving into the shapeshifting pop landscape, incorporating influences of Grimes and Pinkpantheress within her own sublime self-production.

Automotion will bring their post-rock to D2D and post punk Sheffield band City Parking will take to stages, along with London band Daydreamers, who are set to bring their hazy summer guitar pop sound and songs made for festival sunsets.

Dominic Wright is set to deliver his infectious bedroom-pop in the tradition of Alex G, Beabadoobee and ‘Bags’-era Clairo, and is set to be one of the most exciting new performers and songwriters from the UK & Irish scene, Dove Ellis will bring his incredibly raw, heartfelt and honest tracks to Bristol and Nottingham’s city centre venues.

Expiry will take to D2D stages, and after recently supporting Coldplay on their Music of Spheres world tour and musician Tom Grennan, Hana Lili joins the bill, along with 4-piece alt-rock band Keo.

UK producer Love Remain will be performing DJ sets in both Bristol and Nottingham for D2D, and making his bold entrance onto the scene with his propulsive indie rock and alternative pop anthems Maxwell Varey joins those performing.

Born out of obsessions with storytelling, songwriting, cinema and fashion Mauvey joins the stacked lineup. Bristol singer-songwriter Mitch Sanders is within the names added, along with Liverpool collective Monks.

MT Jones heads to the festival, and dream pop band Night Swimming will bring sounds that are atmospheric in nature, and revel in their exploration of ‘the dark nuances of the human experience’.

Melbourne sensations Radio Free Alice will bring their Talking Heads, The Cure, The Smiths influenced sounds to Dot To Dot Festival stages and referred to as ‘one for fans of Alt-J and The xx’ by NME when selected in their NME 100, rEDOLENT join this year’s lineup.

LA based musician Runner brings his homecrafted sounds, using anything and everything from cell phones and handheld tape records, voicemails from friends and more to D2D 2024, alongside Dublin alt rock three-piece Search Results.

Irish quintet Soft Launch are now set to perform, as well as psych rock shoegazers Sulk and fusing inspiration from various backgrounds of choral, post-rock and the staples of the 60s and 70s UGLY will take to stages.

And the final addition within this third wave announcement, displaying an innate ability to translate a primitive spirit into a modern form is YHWH Nailgun.
