'Difficult': Alejandro Garnacho sends heartfelt message to Manchester United fans after Burnley draw

Manchester United produced another disappointing afternoon with a 1-1 draw against relegation-threatened Burnley on Saturday afternoon.

After the drama of last weekend’s FA Cup semi-final win over Coventry City and the midweek comeback against Sheffield United, United fans wanted a drama-free clash with the Clarets.

That just didn’t happen though as United could only manage a 1-1 draw.

Antony’s opening goal had put United on the path to victory, only for Zeki Amdouni to score a leveller from the penalty spot.

United had plenty of shots, gave up plenty of shots, could have won but could have just as easily lost; that’s the description for so many games this season.

Over the last week, United have turned in three unconvincing displays against three teams who are all likely to be playing Championship football next season.

United haven’t actually lost any of those games but the performance levels leave Erik ten Hag under pressure – especially with Ineos looking at any way to improve the club’s fortunes.

Alejandro Garnacho message

United fans are understandably frustrated with these displays and winger Alejandro Garnacho has now spoken up.

The Argentinian has enjoyed a real season of development this season and has become a first-choice player under Ten Hag.

In fact, even substituting Garnacho has brought negative consequences in recent weeks.

Still only 19, Garnacho has hit seven goals and four assists in 32 games this season and his development has been a joy to watch in a frustrating season.

Garnacho has now taken to Instagram, sending a message to United fans after Saturday’s draw with Burnley.

Garnacho suggested that this has been a ‘difficult season’ for everybody at United, urging everybody to stick together for the final weeks of the campaign.

The teenager vowed to keep going ‘until the end’, believing that the ‘most important part’ of the season is now coming.

United’s remaining fixtures

Top four has drifted away from United but Europa League action is still up for grabs and that leaves United with something to play for in the final weeks.

United head away to Crystal Palace a week on Monday before then hosting Arsenal at Old Trafford.

The Gunners are still going for the Premier League title and United will need to turn up with a big performance to get anything out that one.

United then host Newcastle United before finishing up the Premier League campaign with a trip to Brighton and Hove Albion.

Then comes the big one as United head down to Wembley Stadium, taking on bitter rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

United lost the same game last year and Ten Hag would love to go one better and add a second trophy to his cabinet at Old Trafford.

Garnacho will be key to any hopes of a strong end to the campaign and he would no doubt love to give United fans something to shout about in the coming weeks.
