’That’s ridiculous’: Chris Sutton shocked by claim rival manager should join Liverpool instead of Arne Slot

You just wonder what Arne Slot will be thinking when watching this current Liverpool team capitulating in front of everyone’s eyes.

For months now, everyone has known that Jurgen Klopp was going to leave, but now his final few weeks are turning into a disaster.

Getting knocked out of Europe by Atalanta, Losing to Sean Dyche’s Everton in the Merseyside derby and now further dropped points against West Ham United.

Liverpool’s Premier League title hopes were further dented, but the fallout of the Klopp and Mohamed Salah exchange stole the headlines.

It’s not been confirmed yet, but there are suggestions that Feyenoord manager Slot will take charge next season.

Fabrizio Romano delivered the latest update on Slot, but what if the Dutchman doesn’t take charge?

One Liverpool fan had other ideas and doesn’t the 45-year-old at Anfield next season, as he threw in a name that left Chris Sutton surprised.

The name of Dyche was put on the table because of how he ‘puts his heart into it’, but that was quickly dismissed by Sutton, as he told 606.

The former striker made it clear that it’s ‘ridiculous’ even though the Everton manager is a boyhood Liverpool fan.

Sean Dyche as Liverpool manager

Liverpool fan: “I have always had respect for him as a manager and a head coach at every team he has been with. And he puts his heart into it. Liverpool are thinking about getting the Feyenoord manager to replace Jurgen Klopp. I personally think they should try to do the sneaky and offer a lot of money to Everton to let us have Sean Dyche.”

BBC presenter Conor McNamara: “Sean Dyche, when he was a boy, was a Liverpool fan (Sutton laughs in the background). I still think you are clutching at straws though here – Liverpool aren’t going to take Everton’s manager, come on!”

Sutton responded: “Come on, Conor. Let’s not pile on. That’s ridiculous”

Arne Slot at Liverpool next season

The quicker Liverpool can get this announced, the better because Slot needs to make some big calls.

You feel the biggest changes that are going to be made will be the future of the senior players, including Salah and a possible move to Saudi Arabia.

What happened at the London Stadium with Klopp doesn’t exactly help matters, but that’s no longer going to be his issue in a few weeks.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if the call to let Salah leave would be out of Slot’s hands because if the money comes in for him, you can’t turn it down.
