'These are the moments': Musaba explains what was 'so sick' during Sheffield Wednesday's win over West Brom

Anthony Musaba has admitted one thing was ‘so sick’ during Sheffield Wednesday’s win over West Brom.

Sheffield Wednesday gave themselves a huge chance at avoiding relegation yesterday, as they thrashed West Brom on home turf.

The Owls really needed to beat the Baggies to avoid dropping back into the bottom three, however West Brom posed a challenge as they looked to secure themselves a play-off spot.

Goals from Anthony Musaba, Ike Ugbo and Josh Windass, as well as a ‘tremendous’ team display, confirmed a big three points for Wednesday.

They have now lost only one of their last ten matches in all competitions at Hillsborough, and their fanbase have received heavy praise this term for having such a contribution to their exceptional home form.

Sheffield Wednesday fans were ‘so sick’

After netting his eighth goal of the campaign, Musaba has highlighted the fans’ celebrations as ‘so sick’.

Speaking to journalist Joe Crann, the Dutchman said: “I think if you see a lot of fans like this… it’s so sick. It’s not like in every team you can experience like this. I like how the fans are with us, I think they deserve a relationship with the players and to be able to celebrate it so well. These are the moments where I see it’s possible to celebrate in that way. It’s good.

“First when I came we had ups and downs, but I know what kind of club it is and I knew if we had a gaffer who understands us… but yeah, for the rest I have enjoyed my time, so yeah, it’s obviously nice.”

The Owls’ superb home form

It’s not unusual for Sheffield Wednesday fans to be showered in praise and there is no denying the fact that their unwavering support has an effect on the team’s performance.

The Owls have lost only four matches at Hillsborough under Danny Rohl, while they have won double that amount.

Their away form hasn’t been quite as impressive, but the fans who are travelling to Sunderland next weekend are just going to have to be twice as loud if they are to spur the team onto a third win on the bounce.

Wednesday only need a single point to confirm their Championship status next season, but there is no reason why they can’t go for all three.

The Black Cats have been in poor form since the turn of the year and Wednesday’s momentum could well win them the game.

The travelling supporters will definitely deserve plenty to cheer about on the final day, and no doubt Wednesday’s top scorer Musaba will have a positive impact on the outcome.
