Chris Sutton's instant reaction to Celtic performance away to Dundee, wowed by one player

Celtic saw off a well-drilled Dundee outfit by a scoreline of 2-1 at Dens Park to reclaim their three-point advantage at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Undoubtedly, there have been more convincing displays under Brendan Rodgers this term; nevertheless, few results will feel more important currently, given the context of the title race.

In a first half with few opportunities, veteran winger James Forrest lit up proceedings with a stunning volley from the edge of the box to put the Bhoys ahead on the 30-minute mark.

Despite Dundee rallying in the second 45, the Scotland international looked to put the game beyond doubt with just over 20 minutes to go, capitalising on the break of the ball to slam past Jon McCracken.

Nevertheless, the Dees fortuitously found their way back into the match following an own goal from Adam Idah, though the Irishman will be hopeful that Antonio Portales receives credit for the strike.

Either way, Brendan Rodgers’ game management helped to stop the Dees in their tracks, and Celtic got over the line against a tough opponent in the City of Discovery.
