'Look': Roy Keane seriously unimpressed by what he saw £20m Tottenham player do v Arsenal today

Tottenham lost out against Arsenal today and Roy Keane was unimpressed by what he saw from one Spurs player.

A spirited second half comeback counted for nothing in the end as Arsenal dug deep and held on, despite Heung-Min Son’s late penalty causing issues.

For Tottenham, everything was basically ruined in the opening 45 minutes, when some disastrous defending from set-pieces allowed Arsenal to go three nil up.

However, in typical Spurs fashion under Ange Postecoglou, they fought back into the game and after Romero and Son had scored, fancied pinching an equaliser.

It was not to be though and in the end, the pundits and fans were left to analyse some poor play from Spurs as the reason behind the defeat.

Indeed, looking closely at Arsenal’s first goal, Sky Sports pundit Roy Keane was quick to point out how poor it was from Tottenham midfielder, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

“Look at Hojbjerg there. Just in the wrong position. For an experienced player, his starting position is wrong. It’s a good delivery, delivered with pace, and he has gotten himself in the wrong position,” Keane said.

Hojbjerg should have known better

As Keane says here, £20m signing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is an experienced player and in a crucial moment in a massive game, he got something slightly wrong that proved costly.

Tottenham needed to be perfect to see off Arsenal today and they simply weren’t. Conceding goals from two corners in one half of football is no acceptable really and it’s why Arsenal are top and Tottenham are down in fifth.

Postecoglou will be keen to work on this sort of thing when he gets his players in over the summer.

It’s been a decent enough first season but the small details matter.

Hojbjerg is, as noted here, a player who has a lot of games behind him and in reality, was a player Postecoglou probably thought he could rely on today.
