PSG crowned Ligue 1 champions for 12th time

Paris Saint-Germain were crowned Ligue 1 champions for the 12th time on Sunday despite a 3-3 draw with Le Havre the previous day.

PSG needed to defeat Le Havre to claim a third consecutive title, but were still able to celebrate the achievement from the couch after second-placed Monaco were defeated 3-2 by Olympique Lyon.

With a 12-point advantage and only three games left this season, PSG can't be reached any more.

The club has also reached the symbolic milestone of 50 trophies in their history, 32 of which have been won since the Qatar Sports Investments took over in 2011.

"Winning the league is fantastic, but to win Ligue 1 for the 12th time makes it even more special for everyone connected to Paris Saint-Germain," PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi said.

"I will also never forget the fans, who have been amazing whatever the result. We will treasure this moment together as a family," he added.

PSG will now focus on the Champions League semi-finals against Borussia Dortmund, with the first leg taking place on Wednesday, and the French Cup final against Lyon on May 25.
