Ben White did something in derby victory over Tottenham which delighted Arsenal fans

Arsenal held their nerve to secure a 3-2 victory away at Tottenham Hotspur to keep pace in the Premier League title race.

The Gunners raced into a lead as they went 3-0 up by half time, with an own goal from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, an excellent finish from Bukayo Saka and a set-piece header from Kai Havertz helping them win the game.

Spurs did pull two goals back in the late stages, but beyond this, Arsenal were in control of what was a highly impressive victory in a hostile environment under high pressure.

Mikel Arteta’s side have thrived on set pieces this season. Two of their goals came from corners, and fans have been quick to spot the role defender Ben White played in them.

Arsenal fans delighted with Ben White chaos on set pieces against Tottenham

Arsenal looked threatening whenever they had a corner, and Ben White positioned himself near the opposition goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

Fans were delighted when they realised that the right-back had engaged in the dark arts in such a heated fixture, as he wound up the goalkeeper by attempting to undo his gloves.

“Let’s be honest, Ben White is a nuisance in the opposition box,” one fan posted on X.

“Ben White absolutely owned that opening half. Incredible player. Does the dirty work,” another claimed.

“The amount of work Ben White does during our setpieces is going under the radar, for 1st goal he distrubed Vicario by putting fingers on his glove for second as usual body stuff. He does this in all our games. Real mind game expert its so wicked strategy,” one fan noticed, highlighting how crucial the 26-year-old has been in these situations.

White has been one of Arsenal’s best players in recent months, and fans also highlighted how complete he is, as a player who is strong defensively, excels going forward, and brings both technical excellence and an ability to rattle the opposition.

“I don’t know what to say about Ben White. He may be the most complete player I’ve ever watched at Arsenal. Quite literally has every technical and physical attribute. Top mental profile. An absolute pleasure to watch him play for our club,” one fan sensationally claimed.

“Ben White is very good technically. He plays at a high level in multiple positions. Underrated player,” another posted.

White showed how crucial he is to Arsenal’s set-piece success even without scoring against Spurs, and this followed his first-ever brace earlier this week against Chelsea. The right-back is excelling under Arteta, and his antics are helping his side in the Premier League title race.
