US presidential candidate Donald Trump may choose North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum as his vice president, according to Axios.
According to four Axios sources, Gov. Doug Burgum is rapidly moving up the list of possible Trump vice presidential candidates. The presidential candidate's team believes that Burgum can help win the support of so-called moderate voters.
The growing interest in Burgum, according to Axios, has become noticeable in recent weeks. Trump began to frequently mention Burgum in discussions with his supporters, and also invited him and his wife to an Easter brunch at the Mar-a-Lago residence.
According to Axios' sources, Trump likes Burgum's balanced behavior and his experience as a governor. In addition, the presidential candidate considers Burgum reliable. Burgum, as Axios notes, is similar to Mike Pence, who was vice president during Trump's presidency in 2017-2021.
