Over the last day, 112 combat engagements were registered in the frontline. Most hostile attacks took place in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka sectors, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In total, the enemy launched 1 missile and 49 air strikes, fired 77 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of our troops and populated areas.
Situation at the frontlines
The operational situation in the Volyn and Polissia directions has not changed significantly. No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected.
On the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shells settlements from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine.
It conducted an air strike near the village of Velyka Pysarivka in Sumy region. More than 20 localities came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Karpovychi and Prohres in the Chernihiv region; Iskryskivshchyna and Basivka in the Sumy region.
In the Kupiansk direction, our soldiers repelled four attacks near Berestove, Kharkiv region, and Stelmakhivka, Luhansk region. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka and Pishchane in Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, the Defense Forces repelled 14 attacks in the areas of Kopanky and Novosergiyivka in the Kharkiv region; Makiivka, Nevske, Serebryanske forestry in the Luhansk region; and Terny in the Donetsk region. The enemy launched an air strike in the area of Serebryanske forestry. More than 10 localities suffered from artillery and mortar attacks, including Makiivka in the Luhansk region; Terny, Yampolivka, Zarichne in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, our troops repelled 24 attacks in the areas of Verkhnekamianske, Vyymka, Hryhorivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Novyi, Andriivka in the Donetsk region, where the enemy was trying to improve its tactical position. The enemy conducted air strikes near the settlements of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Spirne in the Donetsk region. More than 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire, including Kalynivka, Chasiv Yar and Klishchiivka in Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled 40 attacks in the areas of Novokalynove, Keramik, Arkhangelske, Umanske, Sokil, Ocheretyno, Kalynove, Solovyove, Novopokrovske, Novoselivka Persha and Semenivka in Donetsk region, where the enemy tried to force our units out of their positions.
The enemy also conducted air strikes in the vicinity of Oleksandropil and Ocheretyne in the Donetsk region. More than 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire, including Arkhangelske, Sokil and Novopokrovske in the Donetsk region.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Vodiane, Novomykhailivka, and Urozhayne in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, supported by aviation, tried to break through the defense of our troops 11 times. About 10 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Paraskoviivka and Vuhledar in the Donetsk region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy, with the support of aviation, attacked the positions of our defenders 3 times near Staromayorske, Donetsk region. About 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Malynivka, Bilohirya, Robotyne, Pyatykhatky in the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy does not abandon its intention to push our units out of their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro. With the support of aviation, he attacked the positions of our defenders 3 times near the village of Krynky, Kherson region.
He also conducted air strikes near the settlements of Kostyrka, Beryslav, Novoberislav, Prydniprovske, Veletynske, and Kizomys in the Kherson region. About 20 settlements, including Ivanivka, Novotyanka, Veletenske, Kizomys in the Kherson region, were subjected to artillery and mortar attacks.
Strikes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
During the day, the aviation of the Defense Forces struck at 3 areas of concentration of enemy personnel. Missile troops destroyed 1 enemy control center.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that the situation at the front had escalated and that Russia was attempting to seize the strategic initiative.
In addition, the Armed Forces chief announced the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from three settlements in the Donetsk region.
