Meghan Markle's new product is strangely similar to another royal's 30-year brand

Meghan Markle’s lifestyle brand, American Riveria Orchard is getting closer and closer to release, and recently she sent out pots of jam to a handful of influencers. Although you may not think it, King Charles ‘did it first’ (minus the influencers).

The Duchess of Sussex announced the brand in March, by opening an Instagram account for her new Montecito, California–based lifestyle brand. Although we’ve only seen snippets of the jam, Meghan Markle‘s brand is set to sell stationary, photo albums, yoga mats, and aprons, to name a few.

Meghan Markle’s ‘jam venture’ is eerily similar to King Charles’

At the moment only 50 influencers, including big names such as Kris Jenner and Oprah Winfrey have received the small pots of jam.

However, if it were to become more of a widely received item, the former Suits actress will have some tough competition with her father-in-law, King Charles.

The monarch actually sells his own Organic Strawberry Preserve jam from Highgrove. He started the venture in 1990, and the jam is sold under the Highgrove brand, which was formerly known as Duchy Originals.

Charles established the brand to promote organic farming and support sustainable agricultural practices, and the brand has now branched out into a range of organic foods including dairy and biscuits. The ingredients for the products are often sourced from the monarch’s private estate in Gloucestershire.

The established brand is sold in well-known UK supermarket, Waitrose, and helps to raise money for charity.

Meghan will also be branching out with American Riviera Orchard, which won’t just be selling pots of jam. Whether she’ll reach the level her father-in-law has, only time will tell!

Chrissy Teigen has ‘her best meal of the year’ using Meghan’s jam

Chrissy Teigen is the latest celebrity to promote Meghan’s jam, and it’s a 5-star rating from her. Taking to her Instagram, the TV personality showcased herself making some bacon grilled cheese with Markle’s jam. She enjoyed the goods alongside her children and husband, John Legend, as she called it “one of the best bites we’ve had all year.”

“We jammin!! This might have been one of the best bites we’ve had all year,” she wrote in her Instagram caption. “All we used is some rustic bread, salted butter, triple cream brie, thick-cut bacon, and some @americanrivieraorchard jam!

“Took about 8 mins total and made us happy for the entire weekend,” the 38-year-old concluded.

Looking at the video, we think we’ll be following the recipe ourselves!
