Airstrikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Russian army

From the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been carrying out airstrikes on Russian positions. Fighter and bomber aircraft and attack helicopters and drones are used for shelling enemy positions.

After the full-scale invasion, allies provided Ukraine with several types of guided aviation bombs and cruise missiles. Combat aircraft such as the Su-24 and Su-27 were modernized for their use.

In particular, with the help of Storm Shadow missiles, Ukrainian pilots successfully struck the Chonhar Bridge. The first strike on the bridge took place on June 22, 2023. Shortly thereafter, on July 29, the Ukrainian Defense Forces reported a second successful attack on the Chonhar Bridge. After that, using these British missiles, the Ukrainian Armed Forces targeted military objects in the temporarily occupied Crimea, as well as in the south and east of the country.
