Kim Kardashian is usually turning up the heat on social media. But, this April she’s putting a cooler spin on things as her hairstylist unveils a brand new look, dubbing her “Ice Kimmy.” The reality star shows off a fresh platinum blond hairdo.
The Kardashians fans have seen Kendall, Kylie Jenner, Khloe, Kim, Kourtney Kourtney, and Kris Jenner all sporting different looks throughout their decades on reality TV. But, Kim Kardashian‘s latest look has people particularly puzzled as some assumed the stars always opted for wigs. Chris Appleton, Kim’s hairstylist, explains how he’s dyed Kim’s actual hair bright blond and now fans fear her tresses are “fried.”
Kim Kardashian goes blond
A glimpse at Kim’s Instagram page, and there’s not a blond strand of hair in sight.
But, hop over to her hairstylist, Chris Appleton’s, page, and there she is in her full glory – “Ice Kimmy.”
The mom of four went under a transformation at the hands of Chris who explains the steps it took to achieve her platinum locks.
He captioned his post on April 27: “We wanted to keep a short root & the blonde cool & creamy. I colored it in a couple of sessions to keep the integrity of the hair nice and juicy.”
‘We need a tutorial’
Given how fans noticed “last week” Kim was sporting dark brunette hair and now she’s bright blond, many wanted to see how the dying process worked.
Someone commented on Chris’ post: “You should do a tutorial for this colour change, show us all the tea, us stylists would love to watch it!”
Another was seemingly unimpressed by the look, writing: “Black roots with white hair hmmm.”
However, others said: “Love the smoked root” and “obsessed.”
The hair ‘must be fried’
Kim’s drastic hair color change has sparked conversation on a Reddit thread this Spring.
While some people were already fearing for Kim’s hair on Instagram, writing: “I just pray it’s healthy this time,” more were echoing the same message on Reddit.
One person said Kim’s hair looks “fried” while another commented: “We’re back to the bad fried hair era I’m getting 2022 nightmares again.”
More commented on how they don’t believe Kim’s hair feels particularly nice and others asked why she doesn’t just wear wigs.
A fan told other commenters: “It’s real Chris said he colored it in a few sessions,” but many wonder why Kim doesn’t “protect the health of her hair” by opting for wigs instead.
More “hoped” the look was a wig and others said: “…He absolutely shouldn’t be doing it, he should have said no and encouraged her to wear a wig instead.”
